Welcome to the Jura Parish Church website!
Jura has been home to a vibrant Christian witness for 1,500 years. It is believed St Columba’s missionaries visited in the 6th Century AD, and that his Uncle Earnan was the first Christian Preacher on the island.
The current Jura Parish Church building dates back to 1777, and still the Christian gospel of Christ’s forgiveness reaches out from this sanctuary to locals and visitors alike.
We meet for Sunday Morning Worhip every week at 11.30am and Jura Parish Church building is always open for personal prayer and meditation. For “Special Events” please take a look at the sidebar on the right. Visitors to Jura are most welcome to join us at any of these services or events!
Jura Parish Church is linked with The Round Church, Bowmore in the parish of Kilarrow and St John’s Church , Port Ellen in the Parish of Kildalton and Oa – both on the isle of Islay
